The version Ludosity showed off in the Tweet is the original Ittle Dew 2. Content wise, the Switch release has about 50% more content apparently and it costs $10 more than other platforms. The release was also notable for getting a lovely first run physical edition that seems sold out everywhere now. If you're a fan of the original Legend of Zelda and don't already own the vanilla Ittle Dew 2 then Ittle Dew 2+ is a must-buy adventure that's bursting with charm in a vibrant, memorable, and puzzle-filled world.Ittle Dew 2 saw a release on multiple platforms initially before hitting the Nintendo Switch last year with an enhanced port that has exclusive features. Warning: it's not a good idea to lick stars no matter how pretty they are If the developers fixed these issues then I can see Ittle Dew 2+ being a must-have Switch game like Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The bosses are still quite repetitive, there are no additional difficulty settings, and some parts are still rather perplexing to figure out. It's one incredible game, especially if you enjoy the classic overhead adventure formula as presented in The Legend of Zelda complete with a large overworld and extremely rewarding puzzle-filled dungeons.Īnother minor complaint is that I wish the problems in the vanilla version were remedied here. Anyway, those who haven't played Ittle Dew 2 yet should definitely pick up Ittle Dew 2+ because it's clearly the best version released so far. It makes me wish the Dream World would release as DLC for the original Ittle Dew 2 so every fan would have a chance to play through it. Overall, the Dream World is a great addition for hardcore Ittle Dew 2 fans (such as myself) as it provides some welcome challenges that help extend the replay value substantially.Īll of that being said, if you already own Ittle Dew 2 and aren't a huge fan who is eager to get their hands on more content then Ittle Dew 2+ is probably not worth purchasing, too. Upon traversing these dungeons and trying to collect all of the cards, you'll come across some very clever puzzles and even a brand new boss fight. Each dungeon within the Dream World can be accessed after you gain specific abilities so it's interesting how this world ties in with the main campaign. This new land contains five dungeons that include forty cards which are fun to try and collect. So, what's new in Ittle Dew 2+? Basically, there's a fresh and exciting Dream World area. Don't be such a downer, Tippsie we can have a lot of fun here! The developers definitely know what they're doing and their peers can learn a lot from them. I can't say enough about how well Ittle Dew 2 crafts an engaging and enjoyable campaign. Unlocking shortcuts on the overworld map and mastering dungeon after dungeon while uncovering a wealth of hidden goodies is super-satisfying, especially with the constantly charming world and intuitive controls that tie it all together. Ittle Dew 2+ includes the same memorable Zelda-style adventure complete with challenging yet doable puzzles, a cast of quirky characters, lighthearted music, rewarding collectibles, and a variety of satisfying weapons. Considering I already discussed it at length, I highly recommend reading my full Ittle Dew 2 review if you're unfamiliar with the original version. It won me over with its charming world, fantastic sense of humour, and addictive gameplay that had me hooked until I beat it.
